One of my biggest responsibilities while working at Tresensa was leading development on King’s new playable for their Candy Crush Friends Saga game.
Key Contributions:
Reworked and refactored our base Match-3 code to make our gameplay more fluid and responsive
Researched and implemented the relevant power-up functionality
Collaborated with the engineering team to include a level editor that is now standard for all our match 3 playables
Added functionality for irregular grids using empty tiles, expanding the types of levels that could be made
Worked alongside technical artists to incorporate Spine assets in our playable with the ability to affect the game board
Allowed for multiple different objectives like breaking frozen tiles and bringing cookie items to the bottom of the board
Constantly optimized assets and code to make sure we were under our 200kb initial load limit and 2mb file limit
