Playdemic’s Golf Clash was my first playable project as lead developer after getting hired by Tresensa and I am still very proud of it. Due to the Tresensa game engine not supporting 3D, we decided to convert the golf clash gameplay into a 2D experience, almost like a top down mini. One of my primary focuses was player expression, allowing them the freedom of controlling where they would like to shoot the ball.
Key COntributions:
Created a system that could determine what type of ground the ball landed on (ie: bunker, water, fairway, rough, green)
Simulated the ball physics mostly using tweens
Made sure that the strength of the shot and direction of the arrow made an actual impact on the direction of the ball
Allowed for both driving and putting scenarios
With the client being pleased with the project, I later worked on all future Golf clash Playables at Tresensa
